Kelsey Schutte

Owner/Director/Instructor

Kelsey began her dance education at the age of three where her passion and continuous dedication prepared her to successfully compete in dance competitions, attend master classes, conventions, and intensives around the U.S. She also had the opportunity to attend “Vegas Week” on the hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance.

While earning a BA in Dance at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, Kelsey performed many different dance works within the dance program as well as outside companies. While in college she pursued her love of teaching at a nearby dance studio and furthered her education by getting certified in Barre Pilates. In addition, she trained at multiple summer dance intensives, one at which she extended her stay through a semester at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, where she pursued her knowledge and love for classical ballet and contemporary dance.

Now settled back in her hometown of Green Bay, WI, Kelsey is married to her high school sweetheart, with who they share three kids and two dogs. She is grateful to be fulfilling her dream of not only being an entrepreneur, but also teaching and guiding dancers to be the best versions of themselves. Kelsey looks forward to another special year of classes full of rigor, focus, creativity, and fun!

In middle school and throughout high school she danced with Wauwatosa Esprit Poms and Dance Team through the Badgerette organization. During her time on dance team, she trained in styles such as Pom, Kick, and Hip Hop and had opportunities to travel and perform in Los Angeles, New York City, and Orlando.

During her time at UWSP, she trained under the faculty of Joan Karlen, Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, and Nick Pupillo with Visceral Dance Chicago. Coming to UWSP with the intentions of performing professionally, after taking a few composition classes, Maddie fell in love with the creative side of dance- choreographing. With a more “background approach”, Maddie had many opportunities to both direct and choreograph. In 2019, she graduated with a BA in Dance and was hired and working directly following graduation at an All-Star studio in Green Bay, WI, teaching Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Kick and Pom. She was awarded  “Coach of the Year 2021” through Dance Xtreme Events for her work and dedication to her craft.

Maddie is beyond excited to join Vibe Dance Center for season 12 and getting to know all of the dancers and families. In addition to dance, Maddie works as a lower-elementary school teacher, her favorite place is the beach, her favorite day of the week is Chipotle Sunday and she is a devoted fur-mom to her cat, Olive.
